Terrain Update
The new Terrain Update is here!!
Now your empires will have to choose wisely when deciding to expand into flatlands, hills, or mountains. All of our maps have been updated with the awesome new terrain types, and will make expanding into certain areas of the map harder or easier depending on a couple things
Terrains: There are now three types of terrain
- Flatlands are our basic terrain types
- Hills are our medium difficulty terrain that are scattered around the maps
- Mountains are the highest points on the map, which will be more difficult depending what kind of traits you have.
Speaking of
Terrain Traits: In addition to terrain I've also added traits to go along with them
- Flatlanders have the easiest time expanding into flatlands, have a little more difficulty when expanding into hills, and have a hard time in mountains
- Hill Dwellers are best suited to the hills, but do only slightly worse in the mountains and flatlands
- Mountaineers are great when wanting to expand into the mountains, and do ok in hills, but are terrible on flatland
Other changes:
- Renamed Settler and Weak traits to Expansionist and Isolationist respectively
- Renamed Coward to Peaceful
- UI changes
Next steps will be for me to make the new Caribbean map, and some smaller additions in the next update.
Thanks for playing, and I'll see you next time

Massive pog. Do you think you'll ever add the ability to stop the expansion at a terrain/river feature? Like holding shift or something to keep from passing it?
That definitely sounds cool, but I'm honestly not sure how I'd get that to work. I will definitely ponder on it tho. I do know that I wanna add alliances eventually, so nations can expand without taking ally territory. Not exactly what you're looking for, but it's something lol
